Driving forward vehicle automation R&D


How do automotive sensors, such as LiDAR, radar or cameras work in heavy snowfall? By testing real-life sensors, as well as recording and analyzing their output, we gather important data to aid in scientific research of vehicle sensors.


By utilizing our existing knowledge on game engines, as well as the open-source CARLA simulation platform, we produce realistic simulated scenarios set in the northern climate and environment.


Through research and simulation, WinterSim not only furthers automation research in transportation, but also provides practical data and tools. The results of the project enable the companies to direct their R&D investments when it comes to simulating winter conditions.
